Blue Sky Conferences on Catalytic Olefin Polymerization

The Blue Sky Conferences on Catalytic Olefin Polymerization are scientific forums organized periodically by the Laboratory of Stereoselective Polymerizations (LSP) of the Federico II University in Naples (Italy) in collaboration with the Dutch Polymer Institute (DPI).

General aim of a Blue Sky Conference is to offer five enjoyable days of good science in the title field. To this end, world-leading experts are invited to introduce and discuss, interactively with the audience, frontier topics in Key-Note Lectures of approximately 45 min without the menace of a chairman’s bell, and to be then available for a free-running, highly interactive and possibly provocative discussion.

All participants are encouraged to present their latest results in after-dinner Poster Sessions very much in the style of the Gordon Conferences, conceived to promote open and informal personal discussions in a cosy atmosphere. To this end, the posters are mounted in a pleasant and comfortable setting, with free beverages available until late at night. The rather late start of the morning sessions is studied to allow for an adequate rest.

Poster authors are warmly invited to participate in the Best-Poster Award(s). At the Conference, a Board of Referees including all Key-Note Lecturers select the most interesting and challenging contributions. The authors are called to illustrate their posters orally (15 min, including discussion), and all participants to elect the winner(s), who receive(s) a small grant.
