The 4th Blue Sky Conference on Catalytic Olefin Polymerization was held in Sorrento (Italy) on 27 June – 1 July 2016. With more than 160 participants from 24 countries, 16 Key-Note Lectures, 29 Contributed Lectures and 82 Poster Presentations, this fourth edition offered the richest program in the series, and in the opinion of many participants the highest quality too. The full program and detailed information on the Conference are provided at this Web site.
In the tradition of the Blue Sky Conferences, a Best-Poster Lecture Award context was organized. A board of Referees including all Key-Note Lecturers selected 10 posters for pitch presentation (list at the Conference Best-Posters page). After the pitches, all participants voted for the Best-Poster, and the three most-voted papers were awarded with a full lecture presentation in a dedicated Conference session and a small grant. The winners were:
Best Poster #1 : Islem Belaid (CNRS-LCPP, Lyon, France)
Mechanism of ethylene/butadiene copolymerization for neodymocene complexes in association with a dialkylmagnesium compound
Best Poster #2 : Philip Kenyon (Univ. Konstanz, Germany)
Aqueous Polyethylene Nanocrystal Dispersions from Catalytic Polymerization
Best Poster #3 : Merijn Blaakmeer (Radboud Univ. Nijmegen, Netherlands)
Solid State NMR approach to study Ziegler-Natta catalysts
Congratulations to the Authors!
On behalf of the Organizing Board, I like to thank all Participants for actively contributing to the success of the event, and the Sponsors for financial help.
Arrivederci!
